I'm Connie Harvey, the Libertarian Party candidate for Macarthur.
I will start with sharing a little about myself.
I will start with sharing a little about myself.
I moved into Ruse as a 6 year old child in 1972. Over these years, I've had the privilege of witnessing our community's journey through the decades. For years I worked as an anaesthetic nurse at Blacktown public Hospital and Campbelltown Private Hospital. I now run three local businesses; dedicated to employing locals and contributing to local economic growth. Raising my five children in nearby Camden, Macarthur isn't just where I live; it's shaped who I am today.
Australian government exhibits increasing control (traits of communism) and reducing the space for individualism. I don't think of these changes as improvements, so I decided it is time to campaign, rather than complain! My aim is to offer a principled alternative for those disillusioned by the major parties. I am especially enthusiastic following our party's recent success in the NSW council elections, where we now hold 11 seats.
What sets our party apart?
Our Libertarian vision prioritises prosperity, protects families and defend freedom, and there is a stark contrast with our methods.

How am I any different to the other Macarthur candidates? I am the best candidate because I believe in empowering individuals through choices. Tailored choices are the cornerstone of personal freedom.
Bit by bit, governments have been removing our options.
Bit by bit, governments have been removing our options.
For example, the government is actively reducing the availability of cash and steering us in a direction of a cashless society, which may limit our financial privacy and autonomy. You may prefer to tap, but the option should be yours to make. We will also introduce alternative currency. I will push hard for energy options such as ensuring gas is not removed as an option for new house builds as they are attempting to do in some parts of Sydney and in succeed to do, in Victoria. I will remove the forceful requirement for children to have medical procedures so they can access child care. I will even put forward a motion to remove compulsory voting! I have too many ambitions for one paragraph, however feel free to wonder around party policy platform here: https://www.lpnsw.org.au/federal
Our libertarian influence in Australian Parliament means less undue intervention, removing the one-size-fits-all cloak, and offering you a wide range of personalised options.
I will finish by saying I have a deep understanding of the Macarthur area culture, families, and history. I'm driven to represent the region with both personal commitment and professional insight. Please allow me the opportunity to represent you. I promise I am acutely aware that it is your tax dollars paying for me. Accordingly, I will work very hard for you.
