Vinay was the first NSW candidate to run under the new branding “Libertarian Party”—in the federal by-election of Cook in April 2024. Linked here are the policies he marketed in April 2024, which he continues to stand by. He is currently the vice-chair of the LP Federal Policy Committee. He is also championing a Bill of Natural Rights for Australians.
Vinay is married with two children and has lived in St. George for over 36 years, overlapping the Barton and Cook electorates. He has three master’s degrees: in management sciences, in finance, and in journalism.
Why Vote for Vinay Kolhatkar in Barton?
Most Australian politicians are either ignorantly making appalling decisions or lying to you. Economic history proves that we can have 100 years of high economic growth with zero inflation. Indeed, real productive growth is far superior in a zero-inflation environment. True science also shows that “Net Zero” is needless and will ruin our economy. This is why Australians deserve more truth-tellers in Parliament, and the people of Barton have an opportunity to put one there.
Part of the Barton community suffered when the state government absurdly delinked transport from population density. Oatley was given faster and more frequent trains than Rockdale or Kogarah. I made many appeals on our community’s behalf to both Coalition and Labor state governments. Some, like a new traffic light along a major road (for safety reasons due to a sudden road curvature which caused car-pedestrian accidents), and a better train frequency for suburbs hard done by, succeeded. These are state issues, but the local federal MP who fights for you can make a difference. My causes are predominantly the big federal issues (such as inflation and free speech) but no issue is too small for me to fight for if I believe in it.
