To the Hughes Community
I am a first generation Australian, the son of Croatian immigrant parents who came to Australia, the lucky country, looking for a better life. I spent the first half of my life in Canberra, where I received my education, culminating in my Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology.
I began my working career in the public sector in AusAID and the Commonwealth DPP as an IT contractor. I moved to Sydney where I began my career in the private sector working in IT for companies such as Microsoft, Qantas, The Colonial State Bank, Coopers & Lybrand, and PWC. During this time I was also competing professionally in beach volleyball and mixed martial arts.
I am a pioneer of Australian martial arts in the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). I competed in Australia's first MMA event and was Australia's first Heavyweight MMA champion, Australia's first UFC fighter, Australia's first UFC World Title contender, and the list goes on.

I am a dedicated family man with two beautiful children, a young boy and girl. I look to bring the values I've developed in the martial arts: respect, courtesy, honesty, integrity, and discipline, along with my experience, strong community and family values to the floor of parliament. I have represented Australia around the world and now I look to represent my community in parliament for the seat of Hughes.
If these are the values that you hold dear, then you know who to vote for in this upcoming election.
