Breelin Coetzer for Port Macquarie

Dear Port Macquarie Residents,

I am running to send a message to the major parties:

We want leadership that is based on strong community values and steadfast principles. We want representatives that make a real difference, not pollies making a song and dance about redistributing our taxes and then expecting our applause. We want leaders brave enough to put money back in the pockets of regular people and invest in strengthening our future, not on weak ideology.

I am a Bible-believing Christian, a wife, a mother of two, and a small business owner. I grew up in Port Macquarie, went to school locally, and studied the majority of my university degree from home in Kew (Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies). My husband and I got married in 2017 then moved to Sydney for a short time. But while I was pregnant with our first child, we escaped Sydney in desperation during one of the many COVID lockdowns and returned to Kew to start our small business.

I am standing up against government overreach and the censorship of values and ideas. I am standing up for freedom and autonomy over the way we live our lives. Elections should not just be choosing between the lesser of two evils. I am a genuine alternative with a transparent and principled approach to government. I will hold them to account.

I strongly believe that the government should be made significantly smaller with an Australian DOGE. Freedom of speech, the definition of a “woman” and the freedom to be prosperous must be protected to maintain a strong, free and civil society. If we can't question and disagree with the government, we are not free and are doomed to repeat the tragedies of the past.

It is time to take a new approach to government. What we have right now is costing more and more but giving less and less to our communities. Vote for less taxes and more freedom - Vote 1 Libertarian. Let’s Make Port Macquarie Great Again!

Yours in Liberty,
Breelin Coetzer

Make Port Macquarie Great Again!

1. Trump the Trans Agenda

What is a woman? It is a simple question with a simple answer – XX chromosomes. Women increasingly lose access to female-only spaces such as sports and changing rooms and face legal repercussions for setting boundaries that preserve their dignity and safety. Children are also targets of the trans agenda. Parents and counsellors must be free to affirm a child’s inherent worth and encourage acceptance of their marvellously designed biological reality.

2. Protect Freedom of Speech

Freedom of speech is the bedrock of a free society. Every individual deserves the right to express their views without fear of coercion or force. If you can’t vocalise disagreement with your government or culture you’re simply not free. If elected I'll re-introduce John Ruddick's motion to enshrine a right to free speech in the NSW Constitution.

3. Reject the Global Warming Plot

The global warming narrative is one of the most orchestrated deceptions of our time. Activists have pushed relentless manipulation, shifting their claims when predictions failed - first overheating, then pivoting as the “science” conveniently adjusted. For 20 years, it’s been a steady stream of misleading hype and fake news.

4. End Net Zero Targets

SMART goals - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timed - are basic common knowledge. Our net zero efforts fail all these tests. As a minor global player, chasing this unrealistic and ultimately meaningless target costs us dearly - not just government funds, but the well-being of our families, businesses, future, and global competitiveness.

5. Cut Taxes & Red Tape

As government grows it has to continue to take, take, take. They grab our money, then expect cheers when they toss it back at election time for roads, parks, or potholes. Instead, they should slash red tape so you can live freely, and lower taxes so you can pay your mortgage, rent and power bills. You know what’s best for your family, not disconnected, political-bubble bureaucrats.
